ABOUT
Two decades of work toward one measurable tool.
Rion's Belt began in 2006 as research into how the body adapts to movement and position. That work became a patented wearable designed to give clinicians a precise, measurable tool for movement and balance therapy.
Today the technology is protected by U.S. Patent No. 11,432,764 B2 and European Patent No. EP 3808416 B1, and the device is in the final stages of design and development.
Our mission: every child deserves the chance to move, play and participate fully. We are building a better tool for clinicians and families to develop strength, coordination and confidence, and the data to show it's working.
LEADERSHIP
James W. Turner
President and Founder · Inventor
Jim is the inventor of the Rion's Belt technology and leads the company's engineering, intellectual property and path to market. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Southern Methodist University.
He founded Rion's Belt to put that engineering and business training to work for children whose movement and developmental challenges limit everyday life, and has guided the device from early research through its U.S. and European patents
Crystal Turner, LPN
Medical Industry Liaison
Crystal is a Licensed Practical Nurse with 28 years of experience in rehabilitation hospitals and in-home patient care. She has worked closely with people who rely on physical therapy, rehabilitation and mobility support to regain or keep their independence.
That work has given her a clear view of the obstacles families face outside the clinic, from transportation and accessibility to consistent access to therapy. At Rion's Belt, she connects clinical knowledge with the everyday experience of children and families so the device stays practical and easy to use at home.
